A potentiometer is a contact-type sensor that generates a change in resistance through a sliding contact.
After prolonged use, wear on the contact can cause signal drift or even an open circuit. This is one of the most common causes of early failure in electronic joysticks.
A Hall sensor uses non-contact magnetic sensing. It outputs a position signal by detecting changes in the magnetic field, with no mechanical friction and no contact wear.
Key advantages:
• Significantly longer service life (HAIMOOO life-test standard: no fewer than 2 million operating cycles)
• Greater resistance to vibration and contamination
• More stable signal linearity and high repeatability
• Less performance degradation in high-temperature, dusty, or oily environments
▶ HAIMOOO Note: All of HAIMOOO's main electronic joystick products use non-contact Hall technology. This forms the foundation for reliability in industrial operator control applications.
